D e s c r i p t i o n
This is the Earthworks Journals A6 woodland green leather journal with our Pentagram or Pentacle design hand tooled onto the cover. It is bound in a single thick piece of vegetable tanned leather and has a beautiful, antiqued green finish which picks out the design and natural markings in the full-grain leather; this makes each book unique. The covers are held closed by two tie cords finished with leather beads.
With its compact size it's a great journal to carry around in your bag or coat pocket. It's perfect as a magical diary, Book of Shadows or Grimoire for Hedge Witches and Folk Witches.
D e s i g n
The Pentagram is a powerful magical symbol often used for protection in ceremonial magic. It represents mans place in the Universe, the five points representing the four elements, air, earth, fire and water plus the fifth element, spirit. Five traditionally represents psychic and lunar qualities. Medieval Christians also used this image to symbolise the five wounds of Christ. Pentagonal geometry is often found in nature as the logarithmic spiral, this spiral is found in the growth patterns of many plants.

The pages in this book are hand bound using a strong waxed cord. No glue is used, so the spine of the book cannot be broken, our binding is strong and permanent.
P a p e r
Our paper is 100% recycled and is a natural, off-white, oatmeal colour. It has a matt appearance, is slightly textured and it takes most fountain pens without 'bleeding'.
It's of archival quality which is great if you're planning on leaving your words for future generations!
