D e s c r i p t i o n
This is the Earthworks Journals A5 brown leather journal with our Art Deco Sun Rays design hand tooled onto the cover. It is bound in a single thick piece of vegetable tanned leather and has a beautiful, antiqued brown finish which picks out the design and natural markings in the full-grain leather; this makes each book unique. The covers are held closed by two tie cords finished with leather beads.
With its versatile size it's a great journal to either keep at home or carry around in your bag. It makes a great personal diary, travel journal or notebook.
D e s i g n
This is our take on the Art Deco Sunburst motif which was popular in art and architecture throughout the 1920s and 1930s. It's thought to have become so popular as it symbolised a new hope after the First World War.

It holds approximately 250 pages (500 sides) of A5 sized, unlined paper.
We bind the pages by hand using a strong waxed cord. No glue is used, so the spine of the book cannot be broken, our binding is strong and permanent.
P a p e r
Our paper is 100% recycled and is a natural, off-white, oatmeal colour. This 80 gsm weight paper has a matt appearance, is slightly textured and it takes most fountain pens without 'bleeding'.
It's of archival quality which is great if you're planning on leaving your words for future generations!
