D e s c r i p t i o n
This is the Earthworks Journals A6 brown leather journal with our Pentagram / Pentacle design hand tooled onto the cover. It is bound in a single thick piece of vegetable tanned leather and has a beautiful, antiqued brown finish which picks out the design and natural markings in the full-grain leather; this makes each book unique. The covers are held closed by two tie cords finished with leather beads.

With its compact size it's a great journal to carry around in your bag. It makes an ideal journal or diary to log your magical journey. A perfect Book of Shadows.

D e s i g n
The Pentagram is a powerful magical symbol often used for protection in ceremonial magic. It represents mans place in the Universe, the five points corresponding to the four elements, air, earth, fire and water plus spirit. Five traditionally represents psychic and lunar qualities. Medieval Christians also used this image to symbolise the five wounds of Christ. Pentagonal geometry is often found in nature as the logarithmic spiral, this spiral is found in the growth patterns of many plants.

The pages in this book are hand bound using a strong waxed cord. No glue is used, so the spine of the book cannot be broken, our binding is strong and permanent.

Our paper is 100% recycled and is a natural, off-white, oatmeal colour with faint flecks. It has a matt appearance and a slight texture. It takes most fountain pens without 'bleeding' and has a weight of 80gsm.
It is acid-free archival quality, which is great if you're planning on leaving your words for future generations!
